Health Update
I cannot express how grateful I am to be home from the hospital. It's a beautiful thing to be in your own space. I've had some amazing helpers bring me food, play with Triton, and just send the most loving notes. My Mom has been incredible, even when I get cranky with her, keeping things clean, taking me places, etc. So how am I doing? Here are a few little tidbits:
- I did gain 7lbs in this last week since leaving the hospital, so we up'd my meds and I've started to lose that again. I can definitely tell it's working. Don't fret if we go out and I disappear for awhile; I didn't get lost in the bathroom, I'm just peeing like the Energizer Bunny....it just keeps going and going and going....
- The tumors in my armpits appear to be smaller, so yipee for that!
- I went to Trader Joes on my own today; drove myself, parked, walked the entire store on my own, carries the bags to my car, into the house, and unloaded all on my own. This is HUGE. I NEVER would have been able to do that a week ago. I'm getting stronger, walking better and have more energy
- I'm still sleeping bizarrely. I sleep in the late afternoon/evening, then get up, and sometimes am up for hours in the night, and then sleep some more. I think I'm still screwed up from being in the hospital.
- I've been going visualization exercises to get my body to function properly. I already know this helped dissipate the tumor in m lung pressing on my trachea because I haven't felt it in months. I have no doubt I can use this to heal the rest of my body.
- I am going three times a week to do the MOPA machine, which sends electronic pulses through your body, killing microbes, which then kills cancer cells. I'm going to say this is contributing to my improved health.
- My Cancer Protocols have changed some. I dropped the Budwig Diet, am focusing on the Cellect and working on creative ways to eat it. We just started doing some juicing, I'm doing the B17 (cancer killing vitamin) and several supplements for the heart including Niacin.
- I haven't been doing the Vibe machine because stairs are still an issue, but we are looking to move it and that should help. I heard a few stories recently of people who shrank tumors within weeks by doing this, so I'm getting on it!
- Overall I am improving and looking forward to going to the Harry Potter theme park at the end of October! I KNOW I will be healed to the point that I will be able to fully appreciate the experience.
I want to take a moment to address something. I received an email (which I will respond to soon!) that suggested I had made a mistake going holistic and that I needed to give it up and go for the chemo to save myself. While I appreciate that this person is concerned for my welfare, I still believe that using chemicals to "heal" is a poor idea. I choose to address this because I think that she is not alone in wondering why I don't just do chemo. A few things a) At this particular moment my heart is not strong enough for treatment, we'd need to wait to build it up b) I have never been told that I could be "cured" by chemo, that is it a life extension, and likely cancer would return and I would have to go through this process, maybe several times c) I've seen what it does to people, and I'm not a fan d) My main issue with western medicine is that the doctors don't encourage you to make any life changes when diagnosed with cancer, in fact, they spend a lot of time making sure nothing has to change. Cancer came for a reason, and by not changing any aspect of my life, even if the chemo eliminate the tumors, there is a reason people always get them back. By doing things holistically I'm not only protecting my body long term from chemicals and not experiencing the harsh side effects of the drugs, but if forces me to change my lifestyle. I've had to improve my diet, face my fears, get in touch with my emotions, and I've learned how to be happy and am on the way to becoming truly joyful. I do not believe this would have happened if I had chosen the other path. For those concerned about stats, just because you don't hear about people healing themselves naturally, doesn't mean they aren't doing it. Big Pharma spends a lot of time shutting people up, many doctors who heal patients with natural medicines have to move to Europe or Mexico. I personally know people who have healed themselves, and follow blogs of several who have either a) completely healed or b) are healing from natural remedies. People are often talked into treatments out of fear, and I've always stuck to my beliefs. I appreciate any concern that certain community members may have, but know this, I WILL heal my body, and when I do I will truly be healed. No damaged nerves from chemo, no fretting over when things will return and if I'll survive the next round of treatment. I will be healthy and happy and well balanced and better off than I started. And this, is why I've chosen to go holistic. Feel free to email me if you wish to discuss this further.
I'll wrap this with a little Love and Gratitude:
- I've been loving listening to holiday music this week, especially the fun songs like Rocking Around the Christmas Tree and Jingle Bells and also loving some of the rarer songs such as Carol of the Bells
- Conveniently Natural has delicious vegan food, home delivered, and I've enjoyed it thoroughly this week. Gratitude to Andrea for bringing me some and to the owners for dropping off some free samples. What a beautiful community we belong to!
- Trader Joes quiche is delicous!
- I am grateful for the comfort of my water bed, love it, always
- Gabby Bernstein's new book Spirit Junkie comes out in two weeks! Plus, Tori Amos has a new album out the next week AND I have a gift certificate for Best Buy from my Birthday, so freebie for me!
- I am grateful for the nicer weather and opportunity to chill on my back porch, watching Triton play in his pool, and chase squirrels in the yard
- She & Him are releasing a Christmas Album this year; I think I'm in geek heaven
- On Thursday's blog you'll see my pics for Fall TV; there is a TV show based on fairytales. So excited for that one.
- I love sleeping with stuffed animals. I'll be sleeping with them when I'm married. They make me feel good.
- Did I mention HARRY POTTER THEME PARK IN OCTOBER!!! Yeah, just a tad bit excited
- The symphony is doing Pops in the Park this weekend. Anyone want to go crazy early and get a close parking spot, have a picnic, chit chat and listen to some kickass music from Star Wars and Pirates of the Carribean? So much fun!
- Love naps, so refreshing.
- I am grateful for my parents and everything they do to support me. Love you Mom and Dad

Love and Gratitude: There's No Place Like Home
I've been in such a funk these last few weeks. My trip went all to hell, my finances are looking very unhealthy, my dog Triton has a severe Staph infection, the list goes on. I though some Love and Gratitude would help bring me back to focus. Remember, what we sent out, we get back, it's the Law of Attraction.
Little Things That Made Me Smile
My wonderful new showerhead that has actual water pressure, flowers in the front flower bed, new cozy sofa, new ceiling fan for the bedroom, seeing deer daily at my retreat, chocolate banana cake squares, visiting Sweet Pea vegan bakery and walking away with quite a haul, seeing the ocean, going on a Dune Buggy ride through the Sand Dunes, meeting a cool chic from Kansas in Portland at the Herbivore store and updating her on the new vegan scene in Kansas City, getting a discount on my beach side hotel, finding a cute organic cafe in Florence, making green smoothies again, the fact that Trader Joe's opens tomorrow just five minutes from my house, coming home to a clean home courtesy of my parents, new backyard light for the evenings, the fact that my suitcase has been found and should be returned to me tonight, free music mixes from Miss Moss, finding a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory at the airport in Minneapolis, new episodes of Covert Affairs and White Collar, the killer summer finale of Doctor Who regarding the identity of River and Amy Pond's daughter, the fact that I have seven more OZ books to re-read, and a book of 9 new ones from written by Frank Baum daughter-in-law that I've never read, Kansas City library is buying all of the books I requested, the fact that I have the entire rest of the afternoon and evening to do whatever the heck I want, my cheese shredder, air-conditioning, a plumber for a Dad that can fix my running toilet and install a new garbage disposal for free, my flexible work schedule, healing sessions from my Mom, supportive emails from my friends, sleeping in my own bed

Love and Gratitude Friday's: Triton's 3rd Birthday!!
"You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection."
- Buddha, was a spiritual teacher from ancient India who founded Buddhism.
"Love is the capacity to take care, to protect, to nourish. If you are not capable of generating that kind of energy toward yourself- if you are not capable of taking care of yourself, of nourishing yourself, of protecting yourself- it is very difficult to take care of another person. In the Buddhist teaching, it's clear that to love oneself is the foundation of the love of other people. Love is a practice. Love is truly a practice."
- Thich Nhat Hanh, Zen Buddhist monk, author and peace activist.
I am so grateful to have spent nearly three wonderful years with the most wonderful creature alive, my precious dog Triton. Even though he never cleans the house, creates vast lakes of water and slime in the kitchen, farts up a storm, steals the food off my plate and always hides the garage door opener when I leave him in the car, he's the best friend a girl could ask for. I am so grateful to Wayside for their amazing program, to the Universe for leading me to him, and every moment we've shared. I am grateful to my Mom for all the dog sitting, my Dad for all the dog walking, and everyone else who has participated in his care. I love cuddling with him on the couch, taking him for walks (except during squirrel season!), and going on car rides. He is the best thing that's ever happened to me, my constant, my angel and friend. I love you Triton and am grateful to share this life experience with you! Happy Birthday!!

Love and Gratitude Friday's: Happy Halloween!
I've been a bit quiet this week, in fact today is the first day I've been online since Sunday. I've had the flu on and off, been sleeping alot (I literally slept through Tuesday, not kidding) and possibly feeling a little funky from my Reiki III attunement. However, I am seeing a turn for the better, and wanted to acknowledge the fun-tastic holiday of Halloween.
"I was just thinking of the life of a pumpkin, grow up in the sun, happily entwined with others, then someone comes along, cuts your open and rips your guts out." Buffy from 'Fear Itself'
"Ok, on sleezing extra candy, tears are key. Tears will normally get you the double bagger. You can also try the 'you missed me' routine, but it's risky. Only go there for chocolate." Xander from 'Halloween'
My favorite part of Halloween? The Scare-Tastic Halloween movies on all week. Who doesn't love "Teen Witch", "Casper" or "The Craft? Be sure to enjoy some tasty Vegan Halloween Treats to enhance your movie watching pleasure.
Carving pumpkins this year, be sure to check out Dog O'Lanterns. This lense is heating up the web and has some great doggie pumpkin carvings. There is also a pic of the Triton pumpkin my ex-Ryan carved a few years ago, definately worth checking out!
Need a last minute party idea? Why not throw a Buffy the Vampire Slayer Halloween party?
Ashley, Megan and I, Halloween, 4th grade maybe?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Love and Gratitude Friday's: Attracting Abundance
This week I am Grateful for all of the Abundance I've drawn into my life recently. Using some amazing tools, I've received so many blessings recently. I am Grateful to my Mom for introducing me to the Law of Attraction, the kind gentleman at the local photography studio who offered to do Triton's session for free, my recent Amazon.com sales, Sourcebook for hosting a contest and sending me a brand spanking new Book (Darcy's Voyage), a wonderfully profitable month at the office, the abundance of gorgeous fall days, new friendships, and all of the wonderful tools for allowing abundance into my life. I choose to continue to allow the Universe to deliver Abundance to me and am Grateful for everything I receive. This weeks Love List will highlight the wonderful tools I use to attract Abundance.
1. I LOVE the concept of New Moon Abundance Checks. Essentially, you write a check to yourself from the Universe during the New Moon each month, put it aside, and allowing Abundance to come to you. It may sound like a gimmick, but it worked for Jim Carey, and in September it worked for me! Hey, what do you have to loose, check this out!
2. The 30-Day Prosperity Affirmation. Ok, so I found out about this around the same time as the New Moon Abundance Checks. This affirmation strengthens the check, and helps bring prosperity in all forms into your life. I didn't do it for the full 30 days the past lunar cycle, but I intend to do so this time. Again, why not?
3. The Secret DVD. This fab film really introduced me to the Law of Attraction. People of all walks of life share stories, tools and experiences in this inspirational film. I loved the gratitude tips and concept of creating a Vision Board. This is not to be missed, and a great way to get started on attracting abundance into your life. Oprah featured this movie several times on her show.
4. Create a Vision Board. This is an excellent way to set goals and attract what you desire into your life. Here's a great post with some tips: How to Manifest With a Vision Board
5. Declutter your space. There is a theory that if your life is filled with physical clutter, you cannot attract anything new into your life. Sarah Wilson posted a great article on her blog with some fantastic tips to combat clutter. I highly recommend you check it out. Sunday Life: in which oprah's declutter dude peter walsh visits my apartment
6. Follow the works of Esther Hicks aka Abraham. They have several books and videos that show you how to use the Laws of the Universe in all areas, financial, relationships, etc. My personal favorite is the Sara Series, which is geared towards younger folks, but really lays things out simplistically. When you have the time, I recommend checking out this series of videos that details the Law of Attraction.
What are you Grateful for? What's on your Love List? Where have you seen Abundance in your life recently?

Love and Gratitude Friday's

I LOVE winning contests!!! I entered a drawing for this fab new Pride and Prejudice variation story and I WON!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!! I cannot wait to read it. This story puts Darcy and Elizabeth at sea, en route to America, where they meet and fall in love. Should be a fun read.
Udi's Gluten free products are extremely delicious!! Especially the double chocolate chip muffins, OMG!! I've heard excellent things about the granola and have been eyeing the Cinnamon rolls for eons now. Highly recommend for those watching their gluten intake.
Just got back into Yoga and LOVE IT!! The fitness channel has a great program called Namaste Yoga, which airs a few times a day. I have several episodes recorded, and it's absolutely brilliant! I love how centered I feel, the amazing stretch, and cleansing of the chakras. So beautiful, and you don't have to leave home to do it!
Sexy vampires, teen angst, witches, werewolves, and school carnivals, it can only be The Vampire Diaries. Love this show, pure popcorn fun. And Damon Salvatore, seriously, if you are going to crush on a vampire, he better be really badass, a little bit scary and a whole lot of dreamy. Love this new song by Sara Bareilles!! Can't wait to pick up the new album!
I am grateful for all of my beautiful followers, Ladies Date Night at Eden's Alley tonight, the library for providing so many wonderful books to read and CD's to burn, Chris Beat Cancer for being such an inspiration, new friendships, this gorgeous weather, Fitness television for providing yoga programs, my wonderful job at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, comfy shoes, ant traps, my rebounder, the trash service, indoor plumbing, and fine jewelry for nights out on the town

Love and Gratitude
This week I'm combining my Loving Tuesday's and Gratitude Friday's blog for one big fat showing of Love and Gratitude. Love is such an important expression, and there are so many things I feel loving energy towards. There are also things, people, situations that are more difficult, which is where gratitude comes in. Finding the gratitude in difficult situations is the first step into shedding our ego and turning each aspect of our life into Love.

Loving Tuesday's
1. The Daily Love, a gorgeous free e-newsletter with daily doses of ~love to warm your mailbox. It comes with a mixture of quotes, positive affirmations, and a little food for thought. From the Daily love this week,
"I think when you get to the point where you don't need to be in love, then you could be in love. You have to just be OK with yourself." - John Cusack
"Tell everyone you know: "My happiness depends on me, so you're off the hook." And then demonstrate it. Be happy, no matter what they're doing. Practice feeling good, no matter what. And before you know it, you will not give anyone else responsibility for the way you feel-and then, you'll love them all. Because the only reason you don't love them, is because you're using them as your excuse to not feel good." - Esther Abraham-Hicks
