Heartwarming Animal Stories 2012 Reading Challenge

I've gone reading challenge bananas!! This one came to mind today and I haven't seen any other currenty challenges that fit this criteria, so I decided, what the heck, I'll create my own! I've always loved animals and I enjoy reading inspiring stories concerning them. Some examples would be "Marley and Me", "Dewey: The Small Town Library Cat Who Touched the World", "A Lion Call Christian", etc.

So, here are the rules...

1. We will be reading six books from this challenge, all non-fiction.

2. The challenge runs from January 1, 2012 and ends December 31, 2012.

3. You don't have to choose your books in advance. If you do, you can change your list at any time during the year. Books can overlap with other challenges.

4. Books can be in any format - paper, audio, ebooks...it all counts!

5. You don't have to post a review, but I'm sure others would love to know about the books you are reading and may even want to add it to their reading lists.

NOTE: If you don't have a blog and want to participate, that's fine. You don't have to have a blog, just post in the comments section as you finish books.

6. Comment below that you want to join the challenge. If you have a blog, please mention this contest and post a link to this page. ..

Have fun!

  1. Hmmm, I didn't know that there is a site called goodreads. Especially since I named my blog that. Oh well. sigh.

Myself and my fellow blog contributors will join this challenge. I just won't blog about it until next week though. Thanks.

  8. I'm happy to join the challenge. I love to read animal stories aloud to my children. Ernest Thompson Seton is one of our favorite non-fiction animal authors. I plan to read 6 books.

  9. Here's my first review of "Saving Gracie" - about a dog who is rescued from a puppy mill and her subsequent transition and life with a loving family.

Lots of insight into puppy mills and ways that the state of PA has improved conditions for dogs. Makes anyone who loves animals (especially dogs) want to take action.
